Liverpool have doubts over both Roberto Firmino and IbrahimaKonate ahead of the Premier League trip to face Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday. The two players missed out on the Inter Milan game in the Champions League on Tuesday due to respective injuries. Firmino and Konate were not in the Liverpool squad that lost 1-0 to the Italian champions at home in the second leg of their last 16 tie, but still progressed into the quarterfinals with a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Firmino came on for injured Portuguese player Diogo Jota at the half-time interval and he went on to score the opener for the Reds before the deflected strike from fellow attacker Mohamed Salah wrapped up the 2-0 away win. 3 PLAYERS WHO COULD LEAVE LIVERPOOL THIS SUMMER

English Premier League giants Liverpool had one of the most strange seasons last campaign and also had to face a couple of weird moments as well. After starting last season as the league’s champions, they had their title to defend but they were unable to do so and they eventually lost their crown to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City after enduring a torrid campaign. City also had a mixed campaign as well but they bounced back from their poor form and conjured a remarkable turnaround that saw them emerge as the Champions of England.

For Liverpool, one of their objectives next season will be to fight and challenge Manchester City so they can retain their crown, and to do so, they are expected to engage in some activities in this coming summer transfer window. While they are expected to sign some new players in the window, they are also expected to lay off some players who have been deemed surplus to requirements at the club. Here are some of the players that could be leaving Anfield this summer.

VAN DIJK STEPPING UP LIVERPOOL RECOVERY

Liverpool defender and captain Virgil van Dijk has provided a positive update regarding his journey to regaining full fitness once again on his social media page, and it is what the club’s fans would love to see. The Reds have missed the presence of their skipper so badly following the injury he suffered against Everton in the Merseyside derby earlier in the season which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

Since his injury and absence, Liverpool have not remained the same in their defense department, especially also due to the fact that Joe Gomez, Van Dijk’s defensive partner, also sustained his own injury. The club have particularly had a lot of players on the treatment table this season, and it’s one of the reasons they have been short of what they were last season when they clinched the league title.
